Regular Season Round 21: San Severo - Giulianova 89-62

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Giulianova (7-13) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked San Severo (15-6) 89-62 on Sunday. San Severo dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Giulianova's 26. They outrebounded Giulianova 37-19 including 25 on the defensive glass. San Severo looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Giulianova's players. The best player for the winners was forward Iris Ikangi (200-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Mauro Torresi-Lelli (189-84, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points. Four San Severo players scored in double figures. San Severo's coach Piero Coen felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Antonello Ricci (190-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Danilo Gallerini (185-80, agency: Players Group) added 17 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. San Severo moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Cento. Loser Giulianova dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. San Severo will face Rimini (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Giulianova will play against Isernia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
