There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Sant Nicolau (6-11) won against on the road second-ranked Martorell (12-5) 83-71 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Larry Ewulu (197-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Guard David Jofresa (185-95) produced 19 points and center Marc Bernadi (205-93) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sant Nicolau moved-up to eleventh place in Group C-A, which they share with Barna. Loser Martorell keeps the second position with five games lost. Sant Nicolau will face higher ranked Menorca (#3) in Mahon in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Martorell will play on the road against Arenys in Arenys del Mar and hope to win that game.
