There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Isernia (7-13) edged at home higher ranked Matera (11-8) 88-86 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was guard Ferdinando Smorra (184-88) who scored 32 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Mattia Norcino (185-93) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Isernia's coach Nino Sanfilippo used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Federico Lestini (204-83, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who recorded 26 points and point guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Matera players scored in double figures. Isernia moved-up to eleventh place in B. Loser Matera keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Isernia will face Giulianova (#12) on the road in the next round.
