Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tokyo: Otsuka A. (#3) and Tokyo Big Blue (#9). Otsuka A. (16-8) smashed visiting Tokyo Big Blue (2-22) by 35 points 98-63. Otsuka A. made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Tokyo Big Blue only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 48-23 including a 35-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Tokyo Big Blue helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Otsuka A. players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 4 assists by point guard Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-92) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Big Blue. Kengo Funabashi (-93) added 6 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Otsuka A. maintains third position with 16-8 record having nine points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Tokyo Big Blue lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Otsuka A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo HT.
