No shocking result in a game when third ranked Bisceglie (16-5) smashed at home 5th ranked Porto S.Elpidio (13-8) 84-60 on Sunday. Bisceglie made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Bisceglie outrebounded Porto S.Elpidio 39-22 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Alessandro Poti (193-91) who scored 31 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Guard Marco Cucco (188-94, agency: Players Group) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Stefano Cernivani (190-91) who recorded 11 points and 7 assists and Alberto Cacace (197-96) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Bisceglie and four Porto S.Elpidio players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bisceglie moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Piacenza. Loser Porto S.Elpidio keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Bisceglie will face Senigallia (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Porto S.Elpidio will play against Valdiceppo and hope to win that game.
