Regular Season Round 18: Broni - Venezia 65-54

The most important game in the last round took place in Broni between second ranked Venezia (14-3) and ninth ranked Broni (5-13) on Sunday night. Venezia was defeated by Broni on the road 65-54. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Venezia. The game was mostly controlled by Broni. Venezia managed to win fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Venezia to just 6 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) who scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. American-Nigerian Ndidi Madu (188-89, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Broni's coach Roberto Sacchi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Debora Carangelo (169-92) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and American-Romanian power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Broni moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Torino and Vigarano. Venezia at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Broni is looking forward to face higher ranked San Martino (#4) in San Martino di L in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Venezia will play at home against Vigarano and is hoping to win this game.
