Regular Season Round 19: Marghera - Civitanova 86-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Venezia. Third ranked Marghera faced 4th placed Civitanova. Host Marghera (14-4) defeated guests from Civitanova Marche (12-6) 86-82. Marghera made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) who led her team to a victory scoring 30 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Federica Iannucci (175-93) helped adding 20 points and 11 rebounds. Five Marghera players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian power forward Kristina Ostojic (190-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 19 rebounds and point guard Margherita Mataloni (172-95) scored 21 points. Marghera maintains third place in A2 with 14-4 record having four points less than leader Sesto SG. Loser Civitanova dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Marghera will meet Fanola SML (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Civitanova will play against the league's leader Bologna and hope to secure a win.
