Regular Season Round 13: Army - Gorgan 75-62

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Army's (6-12) home victory over 9th ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (4-14) 75-62. The game was mostly controlled by Army. Shahrdari Gorgan was better in third quarter 30-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Shahrdari Gorgan to just 3 points in second quarter. Army made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for the former international center Mohammad Torabi (211-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). The former international power forward Saleh Foroutannik (207-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Army's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international center Mohammad Shahsavand (210-77) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and center Mahdi Moradinasab (202-92) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Shahrdari Gorgan. Four Shahrdari Gorgan players scored in double figures. Army maintains eighth place with 6-12 record. Shahrdari Gorgan at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Army will play against higher ranked Kashan (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shahrdari Gorgan will play against the league's second-placed Naft Abadan having rather not much hope for a victory.
