Leader Petrochimi delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Tabriz (9-9) 93-63. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Tabriz was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman James White (201-82, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. International Oshin Sahakian (200-86) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Petrochimi players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Erfan Nasajpour (177-84) answered with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Shahab Reyhani (210) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Tabriz. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Petrochimi. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-2 record. Tabriz lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Petrochimi will play against Azad (#3) in Tehran in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tabriz will play on the road against Shiraz a.s Pipe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
