Regular Season Round 34: La Union - Hispano Am. 74-84

There was a small surprise in Formosa where tenth ranked Hispano Am. (11-25) defeated 8th ranked La Union (16-19) 84-74 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Hispano Am.. La Union was better in third quarter 26-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hispano Am. won last quarter 20-11. American Larry O'Bannon (192-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) fired 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners (made all of his seven free throws). Power forward Gonzalo Torres (202-94) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Jamaican center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Alejandro Konsztadt (191-89) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Hispano Am. moved-up to ninth place. Loser La Union keeps the eighth position with 19 games lost. Hispano Am. will face higher ranked Instituto (#3) in Cordoba in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
