Regular Season Round 40: Kyoto Hannar. - SeaHorses 87-101

Rather expected game when 4th ranked Kyoto Hannar. (19-20) was defeated at home by first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (28-9) 101-87 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Kyoto Hannar. was better in second period 18-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 40-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aishin Sea Horses shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Ryoma Hashimoto (178-88) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 4 assists and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses' coach Kimikazu Suzuki used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first position with 28-9 record. Loser Kyoto Hannar. dropped to the third place with 20 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Akita Happinets (#5) at home in the next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
