Regular Season Round 40: Nagoya DD - Ryukyu GK 75-77

Important game to mention about took place in Nagoya. Fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (17-22) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Diamond Dolphins (21-18) 77-75 on Wednesday evening. Diamond Dolphins cut a 13-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. The winners were led by American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who scored that evening 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Tsutomu Isa allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) did not help to save the game for Diamond Dolphins. The former international point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) added 13 points and 4 assists for lost side. Ryukyu GK maintains fifth position with 17-22 record. Diamond Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with 18 games lost. Ryukyu GK will play against higher ranked Chiba Jets (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Diamond Dolphins will play against the league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
