Regular Season Round 40: Toyota Alvark - Tochigi Brex 76-77

The most interesting game of round 40 in the B League was only one-point a home defeat of their biggest opponent Toyota Alvark (29-8) to first ranked Tochigi Brex (30-7) 77-76 in the game for the first place. It ended the two-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 18-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Toyota Alvark 49-34 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) responded with 29 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and swingman Zack Baranski (193-92) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Tochigi Brex have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-7 record. Toyota Alvark at the other side keeps the second place with eight games lost. Tochigi Brex are looking forward to face Toyama Grouses (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Toyota Alvark will play against Shiga L-Stars (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
