Regular Season Round 22: Vitoria - Campo Mourao 86-79

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Universo/Vitoria (14-6) beat 7th ranked Campo Mourao (11-10) in Salvador 86-79. American forward Christopher Hayes (203-87, college: Detroit Mercy) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Arthur Silva (196-82) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Hayes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. Universo/Vitoria's coach Regis Marrelli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international Betinho Nardi-Duarte (195-88) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Vinicius Oliveira (200-90) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Universo/Vitoria have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Bauru. Campo Mourao at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Universo/Vitoria will play against Mogi (#6) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round. Campo Mourao will play on the road against SKY/Basquete in Aldeota and hopes to get back on the winning track.
