Regular Season Round 13: Tadamon - Louaize 77-90

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Zouk: Louaize (#4) and Tadamon (#6). Tadamon was defeated at home 77-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 53-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Louaize made 7 blocks. International guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St., agency: HMS) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Louaize players scored in double figures. American-Dominican MJ Rhett (206-92, college: Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International) added 23 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Tadamon's coach Paul Coughter rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Louaize went down to fifth position due to points difference. Tadamon lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Louaize will meet at home higher ranked Al Moutahed (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tadamon will play against Al Riyadi in Beirut and hope to secure a win.
