Regular Season Round 40: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 68-84

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Osaka Evessa (19-20) against sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (9-30) on Wednesday night. Host Osaka Evessa was defeated by Shiga L-Stars in Osaka 84-68. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Osaka Evessa was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for guard Tomonobu Hasegawa (184-90) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Naoaki Hashimoto (183-92) added 9 points in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shiga L-Stars maintains sixth position with 9-30 record. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the third place with 20 games lost. Shiga L-Stars' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be quite challenging game. Osaka Evessa will play on the road against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
