There was no surprise when 7th ranked Nassjo (12-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked KFUM Jamtland (14-12) 93-78 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by KFUM Jamtland. Nassjo managed to win second period 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KFUM Jamtland forced 20 Nassjo turnovers. Strangely Nassjo outrebounded KFUM Jamtland 44-31 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jabril Durham (185-94, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Dartaye Ruffin (205-91, college: Drexel, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Reginald Johnson (191-94, college: Hampton) scored 18 points. Four Nassjo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. KFUM Jamtland have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 14-12 record, which they share with Boras. Loser Nassjo keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. KFUM Jamtland will meet higher ranked Uppsala Basket (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nassjo will play against Umea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
