Tenth-ranked Hispano Am. (11-27) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Argentino (16-19) in Rio Gallegos on Thursday. The visitors from Junin managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected much easier game. American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Mariano Byro (194-82) answered with 19 points and 4 assists and American Larry O'Bannon (192-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points in the effort for Hispano Am.Four Hispano Am. players scored in double figures. Argentino maintains sixth place with 16-19 record, which they share with La Union. Newly promoted Hispano Am. keeps the tenth position with 27 games lost. Argentino will have a break next round. Hispano Am. will play at home against Regatas Corrientes (#4) and hope to win that game.
