Second Stage Round 1: Tabriz - Arak 80-91

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tabriz (0-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Arak (1-0) 91-80. The game was mostly controlled by Arak. Tabriz managed to win fourth quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot 60.4 percent from the field. Arak forced 21 Tabriz turnovers. American-Georgian forward Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) stepped up and scored 25 points and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Daniel Williams (195-87, college: Lewis-Clark St.) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Arak players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Erfan Nasajpour (177-84) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
