Rather predictable result when Maccabi Ashdod (15-2) defeated at home Elitzur Holon (6-11) 70-60 on Thursday. American power forward Bashaara Graves (188-94, college: Tennessee) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and the former international Shay Doron (175-85, college: Maryland) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Alexis Hornbuckle (180-85, college: Tennessee) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Maccabi Ashdod is looking forward to face Maccabi Ramat Gan in Ramat Hen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Elitzur Holon will play at home against Bnot Hertzeliya (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
