The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Twarde Pierniki as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Twarde Pierniki smashed 17th ranked Stabill in Torun 111-70. Twarde Pierniki dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Stabill's 34. They outrebounded Stabill 40-21 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) who scored 14 points and 7 assists. Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Twarde Pierniki's coach Jacek Winnicki felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alex Welsh (200-94, college: Colorado Springs) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Stabill lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Stabill will play next round against Trefl trying to get back on the winning streak. Twarde Pierniki will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Polpharma in Starogard.
