Top ranked Gunma (26-14) recorded its fourteenth loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Tokyo Excel. (15-24) 78-76. Gunma cut a 14-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tokyo Excel. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bambitious Nara. Gunma at the other side still keeps top position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
