Regular Season Round 20: FoKoPo - Pyrinto II 81-96

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Pyrinto II (6-16) defeated on the road 8th ranked Forssan Koripojat (8-16) 96-81. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto II. Forssan Koripojat was better in second period 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pyrinto II made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by American forward Terrell Vinson (201-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: HMS) who scored that evening 26 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Lassi Kilpinen (185-93) supported him with 9 points and 8 assists. Four Pyrinto II players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by American swingman Roderick Flemings (203-87, college: Hawaii) did not help to save the game for Forssan Koripojat. His fellow American import forward Bruce Reed (202-90, college: Pikeville) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pyrinto II maintains tenth position in Division with 6-16 record. Forssan Koripojat at the other side keeps the eighth place with 16 games lost. Pyrinto II's next round opponent will be higher ranked Jarvenpaa (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
