No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Olimpico de La Banda (18-18) crushed at home 10th ranked Echague (6-30) 101-64 on Saturday. Olimpico de La Banda dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Echague's 32. Olimpico de La Banda forced 20 Echague turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Echague's players. The former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists. Mauro Cosolito (195-88) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Olimpico de La Banda players scored in double figures. Olimpico de La Banda's coach Fernando Duro felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican guard Gelvis Solano (185-94, college: Merrimack, agency: Basket Management Solutions) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and forward Emilio Stucky (198-94) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Echague. Olimpico de La Banda moved-up to fourth place, which they share with GECR Indalo. Newly promoted Echague keeps the tenth position with 30 games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will face league's second-placed Estudiantes C. in Concordia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Echague will play at home against Weber Bahia (#3) and hope to win that game.
