Leader Caen delivered the nineteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Orchesien BC (15-10) 72-57 in Orchies. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orchesien BC. The game without a history. Caen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American power forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Caen's coach Herve Coudray used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) responded with 14 points (made all of his eight free throws) and American Marquise Simmons (203-89, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Interperformances) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Caen (19-6) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place. Loser Orchesien BC keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with GET Vosges. Caen will meet at home Lorient (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Orchesien BC will play against UB Chartres (#9) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
