Regular Season Round 21: Arenys - Martorell 71-81

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Arenys (9-9) lost to second ranked Martorell (13-5) in Arenys del Mar 71-81 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Martorell forced 20 Arenys turnovers. It was a good game for center Marc Bernadi (205-93) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard David Jofresa (185-95) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Martorell players scored in double figures. Guard Aritz Tomas (186-86) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and Quim Salvans (187-98) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Arenys. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Martorell keeps a position of Group C-A leader, which they share with Calvia. Loser Arenys keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Martorell will face AEC Collblanc (#5) in L´Hospitalet in the next round. Arenys will play on the road against Menorca in Mahon and hope to win that game.
