Blusens Monbus (6-14) escaped against Andorra (10-10) in overtime by two points 86-84 on Saturday night. Andorra was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-17 charge of Blusens Monbus, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 25-23. American center Shayne Whittington (209-91, college: W.Michigan) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (204-90) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side French point guard Andrew Albicy (177-90) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Andorra players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Blusens Monbus moved-up to fifteenth place. Andorra lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with RETAbet BB. Blusens Monbus will meet higher ranked Gran Canaria (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Andorra will play against La ICL Manresa and hope to secure a win.
