Regular Season Round 21: Pielagos - TAKE Tolosa 97-60

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Pielagos (8-10) rolled over 14th ranked TAKE Tolosa (3-15) in Renedo de Pielagos 97-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Pielagos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to TAKE Tolosa's 34. They outrebounded TAKE Tolosa 45-28 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pielagos made 7 blocks. It was a good game for power forward Sergio Iglesias (200-92) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Ukrainian center Volodymyr Orlov (208-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Pielagos players scored in double figures. Forward Jon Azaldegi (190-91) answered with 12 points and Mikel Basterra added 12 points in the effort for TAKE Tolosa. TAKE Tolosa's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pielagos moved-up to seventh place in Group A-A, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser TAKE Tolosa keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Pielagos will face Venta de Banos (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TAKE Tolosa will play against Easo and hope to win that game.
