No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Joventut LC (12-8) edged on the road 14th ranked Ponce Valladolid (4-16) 55-53 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 18-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Nerea Garmendia who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Eliana Soriano chipped in 11 points. American guard Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) produced 19 points and her fellow American import point guard Samaria Howard (170-94, college: Tenn Tech) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Joventut LC moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Arxil Pontev. Ponce Valladolid lost third consecutive game. Ponce Valladolid at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Joventut LC will face league's second-placed Sant Adria in Sant Adria de Besos in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ponce Valladolid will play on the road against Real Celta Vigo (#8) and hope to win that game.
