Regular Season Round 19: Bretagne Basket - Reims 63-56

Rather expected game in Pleyber-Christ where 6th ranked Reims (11-8) was defeated by third ranked Bretagne Basket (13-6) 63-56 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 63-56. Bretagne Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding Reims to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a great evening for point guard Pauline Lithard (168-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points (made all of her seven free throws). The former international guard Sabrina Palie (177-81) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bretagne Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Clementine Samson (181-91) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Maimouna Ba (190-96) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Bretagne Basket maintains third place with 13-6 record having just three points less than leader Avenir. Loser Reims dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Bretagne Basket will face Dunkerque (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Reims will play against Limoges (#13) and hope to win that game.
