Regular Season Round 41: Gunma - Tokyo Excel. 81-80

Fifth-ranked Tokyo Excel. (15-24) made lots of trouble for first ranked Gunma (26-14). Gunma managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tokyo Excel.. Tokyo Excel. was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 23-16 third quarter run of Gunma. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) saved the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) added 14 points in the effort for Tokyo Excel.Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gunma maintains first place with 26-14 record. Tokyo Excel. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Bambitious Nara. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
