Regular Season Round 22: Piacenza - Volpino AltoSeb. 96-80

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Volpino AltoSeb. (7-15) lost on the road to third ranked Piacenza (17-5) 96-80 on Saturday. Piacenza shot 67.4 percent from the field. Piacenza had a 27-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Piacenza especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Volpino AltoSeb. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for point guard Giacomo Sanguinetti (180-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (205-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. Naturalized Argentinian forward Andreas Bergamin (195-93, agency: Players Group) replied with 27 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Simone Centanni (185-91, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 4 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) in the effort for Volpino AltoSeb.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piacenza maintains third position in B with 17-5 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Montegrano. Loser Volpino AltoSeb. dropped to the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Piacenza will face league's leader Orzinuovi GaGa on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Volpino AltoSeb. will play against the league's second-placed Bergamo (#2) and hope to win that game.
