Regular Season Round 21: Quart - Castelldefels 89-82

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Castelldefels (5-13) lost on the road to second ranked Quart (14-4) 89-82 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Castelldefels won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quart made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for guard Eric Jimenez (190-90) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Center Miquel Lozano (199-91) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Quart's coach Albert Brea allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Adria Vazquez (183-89) answered with 23 points and forward Jordi Boronat (-85) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Castelldefels. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quart maintains second place in Group C-B with 14-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Chantada, which they share with Pardinyes-L. Loser Castelldefels dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Quart will face league's leader Mollet on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castelldefels will play against Andorra II (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
