Regular Season Round 41: Fukushima - Shinshu BW 78-94

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Fukushima (23-16) against sixth ranked Shinshu BW (12-28) on Saturday night. Host Fukushima was defeated by Shinshu BW in Fukushima 94-78. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Fukushima managed to win second period 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 42. They outrebounded Fukushima 47-18 including a 38-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dutch power forward Jeroen van-der-List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) responded with 17 points and the other American import forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) scored 16 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW maintains sixth place with 12-28 record. Loser Fukushima keeps the second position with 16 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukushima will play again against Shinshu BW and hope to secure a win.
