The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Moncalieri as it allowed them to take a leadership position in B. Moncalieri defeated 14th ranked Firenze Enic at home 76-68. Moncalieri made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Moncalieri outrebounded Firenze Enic 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Firenze Enic was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Riccardo Coviello (197-88) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Antonio-Fabrizio Smorto (192-95) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Moncalieri players scored in double figures. Moncalieri's coach Lorenzo Pansa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81, agency: Players Group) responded with 22 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and guard Diego Terenzi (191-95) scored 16 points. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted Firenze Enic dropped to the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Volpino AltoSeb.. Firenze Enic will play next round against Bottegone trying to get back on the winning streak. Moncalieri will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Sangiorgese at San Giorgio.
