An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers faced 4th placed Kyoto Hannar.. Host Hitachi Sunrockers (19-19) defeated guests from Kyoto (19-21) 75-66. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-66. The best player for the winners was American power forward RT Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach BT Toews used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser Kyoto Hannar. keeps the fourth position with 21 games lost.
