Regular Season Round 25: Gries/Oberhoffen - Angers BC 79-59

Very expected game in Bischwiller where 16th ranked Angers BC (10-15) was rolled over by twelfth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (12-13) 79-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gries/Oberhoffen. Angers BC was better in third quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Angers BC 47-27 including 34 on the defensive glass. American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen's coach Ludovic Pouillart allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Auston Calhoun (201-90, college: Bowling Green, agency: HMS) added 15 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gries/Oberhoffen. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with St Vallier and Chartres. Loser Angers BC dropped to the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will face higher ranked ALS Basket (#8) in Andrezieux in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Angers BC will play at home against GET Vosges (#5) and hope to win that game.
