Regular Season Round 41: Niigata Albirex - Osaka Evessa 85-100

Another exciting game was between third ranked Osaka Evessa and 3rd placed Niigata Albirex where Osaka Evessa (20-20) beat Niigata Albirex (19-21) on the road with 15-point difference 100-85. The game was mostly controlled by Osaka Evessa. Niigata Albirex was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 26 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Niigata Albirex. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa maintains third place with 20-20 record having twelve points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Niigata Albirex lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Kyoto Hannar.. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata Albirex will play again at home against Osaka Evessa (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
