Regular Season Round 20: Strasbourg - Gravelines 72-64
Date: February 25, 2017
The game in Strasbourg was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (11-9) played at the court of eighth ranked Strasbourg IG (11-9). Strasbourg IG managed to secure a 8-point victory 72-64 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gravelines-Dunkerque won third quarter 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strasbourg IG looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Paul Lacombe (195-90, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and international center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (208-94, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Gravelines-Dunkerque. The former international Florent Pietrus (202-81) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Strasbourg IG moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Gravelines. Strasbourg IG will meet bottom-ranked Sluc Nancy (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#9) and hope to secure a win.
