Regular Season Round 21: Weert - Den Bosch 72-74

Eighth-ranked Weert (2-19) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Den Bosch (11-10). The visitors from Den Bosch managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-11. But Weert won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Weert 44-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Weert was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center Marcel Aarts (213-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American forward Charles Mitchell (203, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Jeroen van-Vugt (192-91) with 14 points and swingman Daan Rosenmuller (193-95) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Weert's coach Radenko Varagic tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Den Bosch have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 11-10 record. Weert at the other side stay dead last with 19 lost games. Den Bosch will play against Rotterdam (#5) on the road in the next round. Weert will play against Leeuwarden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
