Second Stage Round 3: Sparta - T71 102-89

The game between T71 (12-9) and Sparta (10-11) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. T71 was defeated by Sparta in Bertrange 89-102. The game without a history. Sparta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Sparta looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by T71 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Brad Reese (200-88, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory with 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international guard Christopher Jones (186-90) answered with 30 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for T71. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sparta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. T71 will play at home against Musel Pikes (#2) and is hoping to win this game.
