Regular Season Round 19: COB Calais - Aulnoye 63-67

An interesting game took place in Calais where 4th placed COB Calais (12-7) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Aulnoye (8-11) 67-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of COB Calais. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But COB Calais won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aulnoye forced 20 COB Calais turnovers. Strangely COB Calais outrebounded Aulnoye 34-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Maud Medenou (189-90) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized DR Congolese forward Lorraine Lokoka (184-89) accounted for 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Serbian center Ana Radovic (190-90, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Elise Prodhomme (180-89) added 13 points respectively for COB Calais in the defeat. Aulnoye moved-up to ninth place, which they share with SIG. COB Calais at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Aulnoye will play against bottom-ranked CFBB (#14) in Paris in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. COB Calais will play on the road against Arras (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
