Regular Season Round 19: Flammes - Tarbes 92-67

Very expected game in Charleville where 10th ranked Tarbes (4-15) was crushed by second ranked Flammes (15-4) 92-67. Tarbes was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Tarbes 35-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Flammes players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Ukrainian center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, college: Rice, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Flammes players scored in double figures. Australian center Abby Bishop (189-88, agency: LBM Management) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Adja Konteh (178-92) added 19 points in the effort for Tarbes. The victory was the third consecutive win for Flammes. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lattes Montp. Tarbes lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Flammes' next round opponent will be league's leader Lattes Montpellier at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tarbes will play against Angers (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
