Very expected game in Dublin where 9th ranked Meteors (2-12) were defeated by fifth ranked WIT Wildcats (7-5) 57-43 on Saturday. WIT Wildcats outrebounded Meteors 43-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Stephanie O'Shea (185-91) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Cathy Kavanagh (187-90) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Eimear Mairtin (164-90) who recorded 15 points and 5 assists and guard Cliona Mairtin (170-94) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. WIT Wildcats moved-up to fourth place, which they share with DCU Mercy. Meteors lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. WIT Wildcats will meet at home league's second-placed Liffey Celtics in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Meteors will have a break next round.
