No shocking result in a game in Willebroek where fifth ranked Kangoeroes (11-10) defeated 8th ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (8-13) 81-69 on Saturday. They outrebounded Belfius Mons-Hainaut 33-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (208-92) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Tre Demps (188-93, college: Northwestern) with 20 points and the other American import swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kangoeroes. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Belfius Mons-Hainaut lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Kangoeroes will meet Leuven Bears (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will play against Basic-Fit Brussels and hope to secure a win.
