Regular Season Round 23: Mark - Visby 81-68

Very expected game in Kinna where 9th ranked Visby Ladies (8-16) were defeated by fourth ranked Mark (12-11) 81-68. It looked good early as Visby Ladies took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mark had a 26-18 second period charge getting the lead and Visby Ladies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-81. Mark forced 19 Visby Ladies turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Tiasha Gray (170-94, college: Austin Peay St.) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International center Elin Ljunggren (185-96) accounted for 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Danielle McCray (185-93, college: Mississippi) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Nicole Bauman (178, college: Wisconsin) added 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for Visby Ladies in the defeat. Mark maintains fourth place with 12-11 record. Visby Ladies at the other side keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Mark will play against higher ranked Alvik Basket (#3) in Stockholm in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Visby Ladies will play on the road against Sallen (#10) in Uppsala and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
