(13-7) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (13-6) 85-83 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by Jamaican-American point guard Maurita Reid (172-85, college: Miami, FL) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 assists and 5 steals and point guard Katarzyna Suknarowska (169-87, agency: Promotex) supported her with 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Artego Bydg. players scored in double figures. Even 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) did not help to save the game for AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski. Australian guard Nicole Seekamp (178-92, college: S.Dakota) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the guests. Artego Bydg. maintains fifth position with 13-7 record. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Artego Bydg. will play against MKK Siedlce (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play against the league's second-placed Wisla Can-Pack (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
