Very important is a road loss of third ranked Team Crema (14-6) against fifth ranked Orvieto (14-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Team Crema was defeated by Orvieto in Orvieto 71-60. The game was mostly controlled by Orvieto. Team Crema managed to win second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game, while Team Crema only scored three points from the stripe. Orvieto forced 25 Team Crema turnovers. The winners were led by Lithuanian power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) supported her with 14 points. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) did not help to save the game for Team Crema. Forward Martina Picotti (184-90) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Orvieto moved-up to third place in A2. Loser Team Crema dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Orvieto will meet at home Alghero (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Team Crema will play against Costa Masnaga (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
