Regular Season Round 20: Asseco - AZS Koszalin 100-103

Date: February 26, 2017
A very interesting game took place in Gdynia. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 13th ranked Asseco (9-12) to fourteenth ranked AZS Koszalin (7-14) 103-100 on Sunday evening. AZS Koszalin made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Asseco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American point guard Remon Nelson (175-90, college: FoKoPo) who scored that evening 27 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import guard Curtis Millage (188-81, college: Arizona St., agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 17 points and 7 assists. Even 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by international guard Filip Matczak (187-93) did not help to save the game for Asseco. The former international guard Marcel Ponitka (192-97) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AZS Koszalin maintains fourteenth position with 7-14 record. Asseco at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. AZS Koszalin's next round opponent will be TBV Start (#15) in Lublin.
