Eighth-ranked Brunell (3-10) gave a tough game to fourth ranked 11890 Killester (8-5) in Cork on Sunday. The visitors from Dublin managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. 11890 Killester forced 24 Brunell turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Leah Fechko (173-94, college: St.Francis, NY) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 11 steals. Guard Jade Daly (-91) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Four 11890 Killester players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international power forward Amy Waters (180-95) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American center Madison Ward (190-94, college: Merrimack) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). 11890 Killester moved-up to third place. Brunell at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. 11890 Killester's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin DCU Mercy.
